This is my daughter. The pic was taken in a temple near Pune. The ‘rangoli’ (painting-like) is a regular feature in India during festivities (links @ rangoli here, here).

This photo essentially proves that India is a country of colors!

I have been visiting Nanded (Maharashtra, India) fairly often as it was a place where a lot of close relatives reside. However, it was in 2009 that I visited the world-famous land mark in Naded – Sachkhand Gurudwara for the first time. The 10th Guru of Sikhs, Guru Govindsinhji spent last years of his life in Naded, and it is in his memory the beautiful structure of Gurudwara has been erected. Last year, 1,200,000 sikh devotees from all over the world visited Nanded to commemorate ‘Guru ta Gaddi’.

When I entered the sanctum sanctorum of Sachkhand Gurudwara, the first thing that struck me was the literal glitter of gold. I have tried to capture here the holy, pious nature of everything that was in the gurudwara and also the glitter.
